PURPOSE:To improve the high-frequency characteristics and permeability by a method wherein the surface of the particles of metal magnetic powder is coated with an organic metal compound containing a metal capable of forming an insulative oxide and heated to form an insulative metal oxide film. CONSTITUTION:After the surface of metal magnetic powder is coated with an organic metal compound containing a metal capable of forming an insulative oxide, it is further heated to form an insulative metal oxide film. The metal magnetic powder thus obtained is pressed, formed, and then heat-treated to manufacture a dust magnetic core. It is made possible that the insulative metal oxide film obtained by heating has less reduction in inter-particle insulation resistance even when the pressed powder is formed, with formability and also the frequency characteristics will not be reduced even if the temperature of the heat treatment following is increased to increase the permeability. |
