A vehicle train for bulky loads consists of a number of automotive heavy lorries of the same kind, one vehicle of which serves as manually controlled control vehicle. Each of the vehicles has a detector device (3) for detecting the actual steering angle of its vehicle axles, a servo device (1, 2) for setting the steering angle of the vehicle axles, an electronic control device (4) which is coupled to the lifting device (3) and to the servo device (1, 2), and an interface (5) for connecting the electronic control devices (4, 7) of all the vehicles to one another. The hydraulic lifting cylinder (11) of the lifting platform of each vehicle can be equipped with sensors (12) for detecting the actual-value pressures which are connected to the control device (4). The lifting cylinders (11) are actuated by means of actuator elements (13) which are driven by the electronic control device (4). Additionally, the propulsion drive (14) of each vehicle can also be controlled by the control device (4). The individual heavy lorries are connected to one another solely by means of a bus-compatible data line (6). One of the vehicles is selected as a control vehicle and controls the entire vehicle train.
