摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the extent of drivability while aiming at reduction in NOx and improvement in a rate of fuel consumption, by installing a device, a which detects a fact that an engine is in the specified ternary driving range, and a desired setting device keeping a desired air-fuel ratio at a ternary air-fuel ratio in a specified state. CONSTITUTION:Suction air is fed to each cylinder from an air cleaner 2 through a suction pipe 3, and fuel is sprayed out of an injector 4. A control unit 20 functions as a ternary range detecting device, a desired setting device and a controlling device. A desired air-fuel ratio is kept at a ternary air-fuel ratio till an engine 1 comes to the specified accelerating low load state by the desired setting device. And, a supply of suction air of fuel is controlled by the controlling device so as to become the desired air-fuel ratio. Therefore, at the time of performance of ternary control, a ternary driving state is maintainable irrespective of some accelerating operation, thus drivability is yet more improvable while aiming at reduction in NOx and improvement in a rate of fuel consumption.
