The invention relates to a roof covering consisting of a flexible material, that is to say webs which are delivered in roll form and comprise substrates which are impregnated or coated with bituminous sealing compositions and are in the form of sheets or similar two-dimensional structures. In order, in the case of said roof covering, on the one hand to provide a very cost-effective means of preventing the neighbouring layers from sticking together when rolled up and, on the other hand, to ensure effective protection against the roof covering being ruined in friction zones after laying, the invention proposes that at least one of the two outer surfaces of the web be coated with a wax-like layer, in particular that the outer layer which is at the bottom in the used position has the wax-type layer. <IMAGE>
