PURPOSE:To eliminate pores in single crystal ferrite and to obtain thick single crystal ferrite, by using a raw material polycrystal having a composition obtained by blending a main component consisting of iron oxide, manganese oxide and zinc oxide with yttrium oxide or yttrium oxide and indium oxide in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:In bonding seed of single crystal to an end face of polycrystal ferrite and making the polycrystal ferrite into single crystal ferrite under heating, polycrystal ferrite having the following composition is used as the polycrystal ferrite. Namely, the polycrystal ferrite is obtained by blending 100pts. wt. ferrite main component consisting of 45-60mol% iron oxide (Fe2O3), 20-40mol% manganese oxide (MnO) and 5-30mol% zinc oxide(ZnO) with 0.006-0.1pt.wt. yttrium oxide (Y2O3) or 0.006-0.1pt.wt yttrium oxide (Y2O3) and <=1.0pt.wt. indium oxide(In2O3).
