PURPOSE:To detect the level of cryogenic liquid with high accuracy by providing the 1st and the 2nd temperature measurement parts which include platinum- cobalt alloy resistance thermometer elements. CONSTITUTION:The 1st temperature measurement part A is provided nearby one end 11 of a guide tube 13 and two temperature measurement parts B and C are arranged between the 1st temperature measurement part A and the other end 12 of the guide pipe 13 at a mutual interval. Further, the temperature measurement parts B and C are installed at positions corresponding to the 10% level and the 20% level of the cryogenic liquid in the tank respectively and the 1st temperature measurement part A is dipped in the cryogenic liquid all the time. Further, the temperature measurement parts A, B, and C are equipped with temperature sensors 16 which have platinum-cobalt resistance thermometer. The 1st temperature measurement part A sends out its measurement result as a reference value. Then, this reference value is compared with the temperature measurement results of the 2nd temperature measurement parts B and C to judge whether the 2nd temperature measurement parts B and C are dipped in the cryogenic liquid or not, and the level of the cryogenic liquid is detected from the judgement result with high accuracy.
