The subject of the invention is a ventilation device for rooms, in particular dwelling rooms having windows. At least one passage into which a hollow air-guiding insert (2) is fitted is provided in the window frame (3). One end of the air-guiding insert (2) projects beyond the window frame into the open and contains an air-passage opening (11) which is closed off to influence from above. The opening of the air-guiding insert (2) facing the room interior is continuously adjustable in its passage cross-section by means of a slide (13) from the closed state to the open state. <IMAGE>
