<p>PURPOSE:To produce a pigment dispersion which has a low viscosity, excellent gloss and clarity and a high pigment concn., by kneading a vehicle resin with a specified azo lake pigment contg. water of crystallization, water and an org. solvent. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle resin (A) (e.g., lime-cured rosin) is premixed with 100pts.wt. azo lake pigment (B) contg. water of crystallization (e.g., Pigment Red 48), obtd. by coupling a diazo component composed of a diazonium salt of a benzeneamine or naphthaleneamine having a sulfo and/or carboxyl group with a coupler component composed of a naphthol or a naphthoic acid and forming a lake with a barium salt 0.5-10pts.wt. water (C) and at least one org. solvent (D) (e.g., toluene) selected from the group consisting of arom. hydrocarbons, aliph. hydrocarbons, esters, ketones, etc. The mixture is kneaded to obtain a pigment dispersion having a pigment concn. of 5-70wt%.</p> |
