PURPOSE:To improve the adherent property of the hard coat layer, and to prevent deterioration in characteristics of a lens itself by pretreating the surface of a plastic lens with an aqueous alkaline solution having a prescribed concentration at a prescribed temp. followed by forming the hard coat layer thereon. CONSTITUTION:The plastic lens which has a halogen substituted aromatic ring and an ester bond, and is composed of a polymer of acrylate, methacrylate or aryl compd. or its copolymer, is pretreated with the aqueous alkaline solution having 8-50% concentration at a temp. of 60-100 deg.C, followed by forming the hard coat layer thereon. A hard coat agent contg. a silicone or a colloidal silica, etc., is preferably used as the hard coat layer. |
