PURPOSE:To simplify improve gradation reproducibility without the complicated operation of an original image by changing the light emission values of respective erasing dots based on the fixed distribution to erase an image. CONSTITUTION:A pattern consisting of respective erasing dots formed on the opposite surface of an LED eraser 2 to a photosensitive drum is formed by impressing different voltages properly and selectively to respective dots on the eraser 2. The light emitting quantity of respective dots is determined by the impressed voltages and can be specified by an operator while observing a display. The information of specified light emitting quantity and a timing signal relating to the rotation of a drum 4 are adjusted and each erasing dot is emitted by the specified quantity. Since the method can reduce the excess/lack of an erasing degree as compared to the method fixing the light emitting quantity of respective dots, so that gradation can be properly reproduced. |
