The invention relates to a multi-walled door for a motor vehicle having a cavity which is formed between an inner wall which serves as assembly carrier and a door lining which covers the said inner wall, a mounting unit with a number of functional element connections for connection cables of functional elements of the motor vehicle, which functional elements are to be actuated by electric motor, is arranged in said cavity. In this arrangement, an electronic mounting unit (12) is provided which has a central plug housing (36) into which a length of standard cable (25) which comes from the vehicle body-side central electrical system of the vehicle and contains power supply and coding cables opens. At the same time, the central plug housing (36) is assigned further plug housings for a number of functional elements. For a corresponding level of equipment, an electronic module (22) which is coupled to the plug housings of further functional elements can be connected to the central plug housing (36). The entire electronic mounting unit (12) serves here as a substructure for control switches (29, 33) which are fitted thereon for actuating the functional elements (Fig. 2).
