A planting container (10) with approximately polygonal cross-section, in which the outer surfaces of the side-wall sections (12 - 15) are covered by means of a covering (20 - 23). An economical covering which is easy to mount is produced by each side-wall section of the planting container being covered with a covering plate which is provided, on the rear side in the region of the upper edge, with hook-in elements (24 - 26) which rest on and engage behind the upper edge (16 - 19) of the side-wall sections. <IMAGE>
