PURPOSE:To identify each graphic by distinguishing each graphic with a pattern and a luminance to display it when graphics are displayed on a display device of an NC device. CONSTITUTION:A picture display command part 1 outputs a graphic command FS, a pattern command PS, and a luminance command BS, and they are inputted to a graphic command processing part 2, a pattern command processing part 3, and a luminance command processing part 6 respectively. The pattern command processed in the pattern command processing part 3 is inputted to the graphic command processing part 2, and processed graphic data is stored in graphic storage devices 51-5n in a graphic storage part 5 through a graphic writing part 4 for every input graphic. Luminance data processed in the luminance command processing part 6 is stored in luminance data storage devices 71-7n in a luminance data storage part 7. These graphic data and luminance data are inputted to a picture synthesizing part 8 and are synthesized and are displayed on a display device 9 like a CRT with the pattern and the luminance commanded for each graphic. Thus, graphic display of animation work simulation or the like is possible on even a monochromatic display device.
