The passenger compartment of a taxi includes a forwardly slidable bulk head (20, 21) to enable a wheel-chair 38 to be accommodated in the fore-and-aft direction, and the rear passenger seat squab (15) may be hinged or removable to provide additional space 17 for manoeuvring the wheel-chair within the passenger compartment. The bulkhead is hinged at 22, 23 for movement and is guided by a lug 25 which engages a guide rail 26. The bulkhead is lockable in its in use and retracted positions by bolts 28 and additionally in its retracted position by bolts 31. <IMAGE>
