PURPOSE:To prevent wasteful copying operation due to erroneous copy size setting, image distribution in the main and subsidiary scanning directions is detected from read image signal to be used for judging actual copy size. CONSTITUTION:Pushing the start button with a set number of required continuous operation starts the copier to operate copying of the set size and the read A3 size image. This causes the dual value sampling circuit 19 to form image element, the edge detection circuit 21 to output signals indicating X and Y axes length of scanned image and the size judging circuit 23Z to output actual image size signal. If this actual size signal agrees with the set size at the completion of the first copy and A3 size image read, then agreement judging circuit 24 does not actuate flip flop FF 1, 2, thus no signal is sent to stop copying operation. If the sizes disagree, FF1 is set to stop operation. |
