PURPOSE:To reduce resistance to a continuous form, in a printer capable of feeding the continuous form in the binding of a plurality of forms, by automatically widening the printing gap between a platen and a printing part if necessary. CONSTITUTION:A pin 35 is usually pressed to a mount plate 32 by the cam part 38 of a stop plate 33 and a printing unit 14 is held to the first position shown by a solid line and a card holder 16 is pressed to the side of a platen 13 by the projection 14a of said unit 14. When a continuous form is mounted on a form tractor to be fed, if there is a continuous feed order exceeding a preset line, a solenoid 29 is operated to attract a plunger 30 and a crank arm 26 revolves to raise the printing unit 14 and the pin 35 of said unit 14 rises while allowing a stop plate 33 to slide to the right but is stopped by the hook part 38a of the stop plate 33 and, therefore, said pin is held to the second position shown by a one-dot broken line. Therefore, not only the printing gap between the printing part of the printing unit 14 and the platen 13 but also the interval between the platen 13 and the card holder 16 are widened to secure a passage for a continuous form. |
