PURPOSE:To improve the combinating condition of an inner cavity resonator and an outer cavity resonator, and make it possible to restrict unnecessary mode in a klystron operation, by spreading an absorber of microwaves at a microwave permeable airtight window of the inner cavity resonator. CONSTITUTION:At a space near a repeller electrode 8, electrons turn back, receive again a grouping function, and pass through a resonating space within a cavity grid 7 in a group. The regrouped electrons give an energy to an electromagnetic field in the resonating space to produce an electromagnetic wave energy, and the electromagnetic wave energy is picked up to an outer cavity resonator 2 through a permeable vacuum-tight window 9. The outer cavity resonator 2 is made to have a maximum close connection to an inner cavity resonator 1 by a mode handle 10, and at the same time, the unnecessary mode for the desired mode of the klystron operation is restricted, and the output is picked up to an external load circuit. Although such an unnecessary mode cannot be controlled perfectly only by the mode handle 10, the microwaves of such an unnecessary mode is absorbed by a microwave absorber 12 made of carbon, for example, spread along the inner side of the mode handle 10 at the microwave permeable vacuum-tight window 9. As a result, electromagnetic waves with no unnecessary mode can be picked up.
