<p>PURPOSE:To effectively utilize the output of a retarder by accumulating the generating output of the retarder at a flywheel at the braking time, and operating the retarder as a motor by the energy of the flywheel at the accelerating time. CONSTITUTION:A flywheel housing 3 is disposed on the back side of an engine 2, and a flywheel 7 provided with inductor poles 8 on the outer peripheral side and a retarder formed of a stator provided with an armature coil and a field coil are provided in the housing 3. The retarder operates as a generator at the braking time, and its output is supplied through a motor 14 to a flywheel 16. At the accelerating time, the motor 14 is operated as a generator by the flywheel 16, its output is supplied to the retarder to operate the retarder as the motor, thereby applying a drive force to a vehicle.</p> |
