PURPOSE:To easily form uniform film thickness by doping a polypyrrole film or a pyrrole derivative polymer film with anions and using it for an electrostatic charge generating layer. CONSTITUTION:The polypyrrole film or a pyrrole derivative polymer film is formed on a conductive substrate by an electrolytic polymerization method, vapor phase polymerization method, or the like. For example, the polypyrrole film is formed on the conductive substrate made of indium titanium oxide (ITO) by forming a working electrode made of ITO and an opposite Pt electrode in a solution of a mixture of pyrrole and tetraethylammonium tetrafluoroborate and subjecting pyrrole to the electrolytic polymerization. The charge generating layer is formed by doping this polypyrrole film with anions, such as ClO4<-> or BF4<->, and this layer is further coated with polyvinylcarbazole to form a charge transfer layer, thus permitting the obtained laminate type electrophotographic sensitive body to be made uniform in film thickness and high in sensitivity by using the polypyrrole film for the charge generating layer. |
