A ladder set comprises a number of mutually interconnectable sections whereby the effective length of the ladder may be varied. Each section comprises two uprights 1 and a number of rungs 2 removably fixed therebetween, both uprights 1 and rungs 2 being in the form of profile sections. Each upright 1 has a longitudinal substantially enclosed pocket 4 for accommodating longitudinal projection members 3 on an adjacent section. The profile section of each rung 2 completely encloses a central space and, at each end, has at least one projection 15 for insertion into a corresponding recess in the respective upright 1 in torsionally rigid manner. Separate anchorage means, e.g. screws 16, are provided to hold each rung 2 firmly to the respective uprights 1. <IMAGE> |
