PURPOSE:To improve accuracy in the working of an erasing gap preventing erosion due to a glass with low melting point for coupling with a recording/ reproducing core, by constituting a linking member which forms two erasing cores in one body of a glass erosion-resistant nonmagnetic material. CONSTITUTION:The linking member 13 made of the nonmagnetic material is stuck in the groove part 15 of a block body 14 with a glass with a high melting point, after fitting the member in the groove, and an erasing core 17 is formed by working and slicing a cutting groove 16. A recording/reproducing core 11 is stuck at the narrow width part 16b of the cutting groove 16 with the glass with the low melting point, and a magnetic head 10 is formed by arranging erasing gaps 12a at the both sides of a recording/reproducing gap 11a. Therefore, since the inner wall of a cutting groove part is not eroded by a joining glass, the accuracy in an assembling can be improved, and the accurate positioning of the erasing gap can be performed, thereby the gap being formed in a prescribed gap with high accuracy, and a manufacturing yield can be improved.
