PURPOSE:To inform accurate operation end and to make it possible to take a picture more interestingly at the time of self-timer operation by using voice means to constitute the operation display of a self-timer. CONSTITUTION:When the self-timer operation is set up and a shutter button is depressed, a release signal RS having length corresponding to the operating time of the self-timer is inputted to an AND circuit 2 and CLK pulses are sent from a reference pulse generator 1 to a counter 4 during the period. The sent pulses are counted by the counter 4, and when the count reaches a certain number N, a pulse signal SS to be a switch for generating voice is sent from a switch signal generator 5 to a voice synthesizing circuit 6. The number N is determined by the length of voice stored in the circuit 6 and the operation length of the self-timer. The circuit 6 is switched by the signal SS and its voice output is amplified by an amplifier 7 and outputted from a speaker 8.
