PURPOSE:To obtain granular product provided with a given strength and to improve the efficiency of granulating process as well as the stabilizing of quality of the granular products by heating granular resin and granulating it preliminarily. CONSTITUTION:Raw material powder, fed into a mixing chamber 21, is mixed in the mixing chamber 21 by a mixing screw 23 while agitating it, then, the material powder is transferred forwardly further. In this case, a material provided with the lowest softening point in the raw material resin is softened and functions as a binder while the other constituents of the resin are bound by a pressure due to the mixing whereby the raw material powder is granulated. The preliminarily granulated raw material resin is thrown into the hopper 3 of a granulating machine and is sent by pressure between rolls 41, 42 (provided with recesses for forming pellets on the outer periphery thereof) by a feed screw 31. The preliminarily granulated material flows stationarily and compressing force of the rolls 41, 42 is operated sufficiently and uniformly, as a result, the material resin may be formed while keeping a given strength. On the other hand, the preliminarily granulated material may be prevented from leaking through a clearance between the rolls and the hopper because of the sufficiently large size thereof.
