PURPOSE:To easily remember document contents of find a desired document in a short period by outputting not only subjects of plural documents stored in an extended memory but also a prescribed number of first characters and symbols of these documents. CONSTITUTION:Document information are stored together with subjects in an external storage means 100 of an extended RAM freely attachable to and detachable from a word processor body and are read and stored in a storage means 102 by a reading means 101. Subjects of document information stored in the storage means 102 are extracted by a subject extracting means 103. When it is instructed by an input means 104 that document contents of the first several lines of document information are outputted together with subjects, pertinent document contents are extracted by a document extracting means 105 and are outputted by an output means 106 like a printer or a display device.
