PURPOSE:To obtain a good image by using an electrophotographic developing method providing the inside of a sleeve with a rotary magnet roll, holding a magnetic brush and an image-forming body out of contact with each other, and satisfying a specified algebraic expression. CONSTITUTION:A latent image is developed on the image-forming body by forming a magnetic brush composed of the carrier and the toner of a binary developer on a sleeve and applying the electrophotographic developing method satisfying algebraic expressions I and II, where Vsl is the linear velocity of a developer carrying body (sleeve), n is the number of the magnetic poles of a magnetic roll, omegam is the rotative angular velocity of the magnetic roll, h is the length of the magnetic brush, Vd is the linear velocity of the image- forming body, mt is an amount of toner attached to said sleeve, Vsl and omegam are positive when they move in the direction same as that of the image-forming body, thus permitting the obtained image to be made sufficient in density and good in resolution, and free from any noise by using a developer layer composed of a short magnetic brush.
