PURPOSE:To certify a password number with a high safety by making it possible to update the password number stored in an IC card having the operation function as a single substance and certifying the password number, which is card owner inputs, based on the updated password number. CONSTITUTION:A password number (PIN) is updated in a PIN update calculating part 13 in accordance with the even day or the odd day and is stored in a PIN storage part 14. Stored contents of the PIN storage part 14 and the PIN which is inputted from a keyboard 2 of the IC card omitted in the figure and is stored in a PIN storage part 15 are compared with each other by a coincidence detecting part 16. If they coincide with each other, the coincidence output is inputted to a control part 18, and a certification number (PIN-AN) is operated in a PIN-AN SAN operating part 20 and is displayed on a display part 3 of the IC card. This certification number is collated with a reported number to confirm the IC card. |
