PURPOSE:To accurately move a cursor by selecting speed information preliminarily set to a control means by a speed designating means to set the extent of movement of the cursor. CONSTITUTION:A picture storage device 1, a magnetic storage device 13, a picture input device 14, a CRT display device 15, a keyboard 16, and a printer 17 are connected to a control part 11 of a picture information processor to constitute the picture information processor. The keyboard 16 is provided with not only alphabetic keys or the like but also cursor moving keys 17a-17d which move the cursor displayed on the CRT display device 15 in a desired direction, a cursor position confirming key 17e, and a speed designating key 17f which switches the moving speed of the cursor. A different speed coefficient of the cursor speed is selected in accordance with the operation of the speed designating key 17f and the extent of movement of the cursor is changed on a basis of the selected speed coefficient, and therefore, the cursor is moved quickly and accurately.
