PURPOSE:To obtain a rotating-direction control apparatus of a synchronous motor, in which the rotating directions can be regulated and the forward and reverse rotations can be switched arbitrarily, by making DC flow in the direction corresponding to the desired rotating direction to a motor driving coil before operation. CONSTITUTION:A rotating direction regulating arm 6a for the counterclockwise direction and a rotating direction regulating arm 6b for the clockwise direction are pivoted on a shaft 15. Magnets 7a and 7b are attached to the arms 6a and 6b through window parts 10a and 10b, which are provided in a gear case 9 so as to face a motor driving coil 8. When a switch S1 is turned before a switch S3 is turned ON, the tip of the arm 6a is protruded into the rotating path of a stopper 5, and the tip 22 of the arm 6b is moved out of the rotating path of the stopper 5. Thereafter, when the switch S1 is turned OFF and the switch S3 is turned ON, the rotation of the synchronous motor in the clockwise direction is restricted with the arm 6a, and the rotation of the motor in the counterclockwise direction is started positively.
