PURPOSE:To reduce the storage space and the length of a cable by connecting terminal equipments to T-type connectors, which are provided on the way of the cable connecting a master equipment and terminal equipments, through terminal servers having the bidirectional transmission function. CONSTITUTION:Plural T-type branch connectors CN are connected on the way of a cable CB connecting a master equipment MU and a terminal TM. A terminal equipment TM is connected to the connector CN between a terminal server TS having the bidirectional transmission function between them. The signal transmitted from the master equipment MU to one terminal TM is decoded by all terminal servers TS, and each terminal server TS transfers the following signal to the corresponding terminal TM if the transmitted signal is destined for this terminal TM. The terminal responds to the master equipment MU, and the terminal transmits data if it has data to be transmitted. The master equipment MU performs polling to plural terminals TM similarly. Thus, the storage space of the cable and the cable length are reduced to facilitate extension and removal of terminal equipments.
