PURPOSE:To enable a sharp image recording to be conducted on a recording body, for example, in two or more colors according to a bit of color information, by a method wherein, if the bit of color information relating to the output of a text stored in a storing means is not coincident with the sort of a loaded ink sheet, an output operation is conducted regardless of the bit of color information. CONSTITUTION:If a code which was taken out from a registered document is a color switch-over code, it is judged whether or not a ribbon mode flag in a text format part is a two-color mode. Then, if the two-color mode is judged, it is temporarily stored in a display buffer 602-6. On the other hand, if said code is not a color switch-over code, whether or not a process for all characters is completed is judged regardless of the color switch-over code. Then, if the judgement is NO, it is judged whether or not the number of the character codes under temporary retention amounts to the maximum number of display columns on a display part 604. If the judgment is YES, a character string in the display buffer 602-6 is transferred to the display part 604 and displayed thereon, then the process is completed. |
