PURPOSE:To attain the expansion, contraction or scanning conversion of images by a table memory small in capacity even if an expansion ratio is large by independently forming a table for executing expansion/contraction and a table for converting a scanning direction. CONSTITUTION:A table memory 1 for expansion/contraction and a table memory 2 for converting the scanning direction are independently formed and the table memory 2 is accessed by the conversion data of the table memory 1. An image memory 3 such as a line memory storing an original image is accessed by the conversion data of the table memory 2 and image data obtained from the image memory 3 is entered in an output address storing data to be expanded/ contracted. Namely, coordinates for setting up expanded image data are specified by a picture element counter (X axis position) and a line counter (Y axis position), the position of data before expansion/contraction is found out by the table memory 1 and then the position of the original image corresponding to the data is found out by the table memory 2. |
