Corrosion resistant amorphous chromium alloy compositions

An amorphous metal alloy composition exhibiting corrosion resistance in acidic environments of the formula: CraMbBcCdRe wherein M is at least one metal selected from the group consisting of Mo, W, Nb and Ta; R is at least one element selected from the group consisting of N, P, As, S and Se; and wherein a ranges from about greater than 0.4 to about 0.6; b ranges from about 0.15 to about less than 0.4; and c ranges from zero to about 0.16. d ranges from zero to about 0.2; and e ranges from zero to about 0.3; with the proviso that the sum of (c+d+e) ranges from about 0.04 to about 0.35.
