METHOD FOR REGISTERING IDENTIFICATION NUMBER OF IC CARD

PURPOSE:To efficiently register a new identification (ID) number corresponding to an access section without complexing the circuit constitution of an IC card by deciding whether the registration of the ID number is to be permitted or not in the IC card at the registration of the ID number and executing the registration of the ID number based on the decided result. CONSTITUTION:An ID number registration command 10 is inputted from the IC card reader/writer side to an ID collating part 4 in the IC card 1. The collating part 4 compares the input data of the command 10 with an ID number obtained from an ID number register 2 and outputs the compared result to a registration validity/invalidity deciding part 6. The deciding part 6 decides the impossibility of registration at the time of coincidence and transmits a reregistration request signal 11 to the IC card reader/writer or decides the possibility of registration at the time of no coincidence and starts an ID registering part 5. The ID registration part 5 registers the ID number inputted as the command 10 in the register 2 (transmits an ID number registration signal 13) and transmits a registration informing signal 12 to the IC card reader/writer.
