PURPOSE:To read an ID signal automatically and to make a desired display based upon the ID signal automatically by providing an ID signal output line for identifying the kind of a scope and a system controller which controls a digital scan converter (DSC). CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with the signal output line for IDs with which the kinds of a respective scopes 1 are discriminated and the system controller 7 which controls the DSC 3 for displaying a normal image at a specific position on a display part 4 on the basis of the ID signal. When a scope 1 is connected to a main device body, the ID signal output indicating the kind of the scope 1 is outputted to the system controller 7 through the signal output line. Then, the controller 7 controls the DSC 3 on the basis of the ID signal and this DSC 3 displays the normal image at the specific position on the display part 4. Thus, the scope 1 is only connected to the main device body to display the normal image at the specific position automatically.
