CONTROL METHOD FOR WALKING BEAM TYPE COOLING BED

PURPOSE:To prevent an uneven cooling and to improve the quality by increasing the rotating time of a long-sized material, by making the moving speed of the mobile rake in the section where a long-sized material is located at the root part of a mobile rake and stationary rake faster than that of other sections. CONSTITUTION:A high temp. and long-sized pipe 13 having come out of a rolling mill is fed onto a stationary rake 12 and cooled by being transferred every one pitch by the movement of the mobile rake 25 describing an elliptic locus. The moving speed of the mobile rake 25 at the time when the long-sized material 13 exists at the root part 26 of the mobile rake 25 and the root part 14 of the stationary rake 12 is made faster and the moving speeds at the other sections are made slower. Consequently, the percentage of the rotation time of the long-sized material within one cycle can be increased 1.5-2.0 times the past. The deformation and bent due to the uneven cooling on the cooling bed are prevented and the quality can be improved.
