PURPOSE:To reduce working steps, make easy the working and make small the chip coil by electrically welding a leadout wire of coil to the U-shaped recessed part, fixing the core wire of leadout wire to the recessed part and connecting the recessed part to the plate-shaped external terminal. CONSTITUTION:The frames 4, 4' providing in parallel the protruded pieces of lead segments 42, 42' having the U-shaped recessed parts 43, 43' at the end part are punched from a metal thin plate and the leadout wires 2, 2' covered with urethane of chip coil are placed on the U-shaped recessed portions 43, 43', and the core wire is welded to the U-shaped part while the cover of leadout wire is thermally peeled by placing in contact the head of electric resistance welding machine with the U-shaped recessed portions, and thereby the lead segments 42, 42' are cut. Thereafter, the entire part is resin-molded leaving the U-shaped portions 43, 43', completing a chip coil. The U-shaped part at the external side of resin mold is shaped flat and it is used as the external terminal.
