PURPOSE:To improve the reliability in forming a rivet by using the composition that the gap correction among products is performed by closely fitting a rivet to the product face in case of its floating in the forming stage and the position of a calking yoke is held constantly at calking time. CONSTITUTION:A snap 6 is brought into contact with the forming side of a ribet 18 by the equalizing operation of a yoke 1 by abutting a snap 5 to a rivet head part 18a by the piston 3a of a cylinder chamber 2a by locating inside the yoke 7 the rivet 18 inserted into products 19, 19a. The gap between the products 19, 19a and the floating of the rivet 18 are corrected by the whole yoke 1 body by pinching the rivet 18 between the snaps 5, 6 by ascending the yoke 7 by the piston 4a of the cylinder chamber 2b. Thereafter, the rivet 18 is subjected to a compression forming in the axial direction with holding the position of the yoke 1 constantly by feeding a high pressure oil to the cylinder chambers 2a, 2b. In this way the reliability in rivet forming can be improved.
