PURPOSE:To select a mode suitable to a driving condition in a facsimile equipment by setting the mode of either of a power source on holding mode and an action time power source turning-on mode concerning an image reading part and/or a recording part by a time designation. CONSTITUTION:When a time and a mode are set from a console panel 5, a main control part 8 executes the registration to a timer control part 6. The electric power condition in a scanner 3 and a printer 4 is held at a power source condition holding part 12. The power source is always on to a facsimile main control part 8, and the main control part 8 enquires to the timer control part 6 periodically whether the time is up or not. When the report that the mode condition to come to be the time-up is obtained is received from the timer control part 6, the main control part 8 investigates the contents of the power source condition holding part 12, and the instruction is generated to a power source control part 7 so as to apply to the mode condition to be obtained next. The power source control part 7 respectively turns the power source on and off corresponding to the said instruction concerning the scanner 3 and the printer 4.
