PURPOSE:To enable an ink to be supplied from an ink cartridge under a stable condition along with a consumption of ink in a recording electrode, by a method wherein an ink reserve supplies an ink to the recording electrode having an axial ink flow properties and a supply tube is so formed as to be in contact with the ink reserve and shaped not parallel to an ink surface at the lower end thereof. CONSTITUTION:An ink 43 in an ink cartridge 42 flows into an ink tank 28 through an ink flow out hole 26 to form an ink reserve 49. The ink surface of the ink reserve 49 is positioned at and around the uppest portion of an inclined face 45a of an ink supply tube 45. The ink cartridge 42 is in a closed condition, excepting the ink flow out hole 46. The ink surface is successively lowered from this position as the ink 43 is consumed, whereby the inclined face 45a of the ink supply tube 45 is exposed in the air. Then, at the exposed portion, a path allowing the air to flow into the ink tank 4 formed. In this manner, the smooth flow of the ink 43 out of the ink cartridge 42 is established, thus enabling a good supply of the ink 43 to the tip of a recording electrode 32. |
