PURPOSE:To provide the titled resin using a specific polyhydroxy compound as a raw material, having excellent mechanical strength, high elastic modulus, moderate flexibility and excellent heat-resistance, curable with electron beam and giving a magnetic recording medium having excellent durability. CONSTITUTION:The objective resin can be produced by reacting (A) an active- hydrogen-containing polhydroxyl compound consisting of a polyether polyol produced by adding propylene oxide and/or ethylene oxide to sorbitol with (B) a polyisocyanate compound and (C) a compound having active hydrogen and (meth)acryl group. The component B is e.g. 2,4-tolylene diisocyanate, etc., and the component C is preferably 2-hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate.
