PURPOSE:To omit a radio wave transmission part of a portable terminal and to reduce the size of the portable terminal by communicating from the portable terminal to a terminating office through a wire and from the terminating office to the portable terminal through radio waves respectively. CONSTITUTION:When a user dials a specific No. or a specific subscriber's No. from a telephone set 2 to connect the telephone set 2 with a center 3, the telephone set 2 is connected with a call communication exchange 4 through a telephone line and the center 3 is called to inquire the existence of the access. Receiving the answer of the existence of the access, the call communication exchange 4 sends a communication start sound. Information from the portable terminal 1 to the call communication exchange 4 is transmitted through a telephone network by an acoustic coupler and information from the exchange 4 to the terminal 1 is received and displayed with radio waves through a radio wave base station 6.
