PURPOSE:To substantially increase data recording capacity by executing additional recording subsequent to an already recorded part. CONSTITUTION:At the time of recording of a disk, an identifying signal SD is inserted in advance into a part before a set period from a terminal of a recording signal. In this state, at the time of reproduction of the disk, a synchro nizing signal period of a reproducing signal is detected, and also, the identifying signal SD is detected. When this identifying signal SD has been detected, an information signal to be added is converted to data in accordance with a pre scribed recording format and a device becomes a holding state. When the set period elapses after the identifying signal has been detected, an additional record ing signal which has been held in accordance with a timing of the synchronizing signal period is sent to a disk recording and reproducing part and additional recording is executed, so that a recording pattern is not broken down in a connection of the already recorded part and the additional recording part.
