PURPOSE:To surely input data whose frequency in input is high and to make a key input device relatively light-weight by arranging key switches and a display device on a keyboard surface and providing a means which receives the input from key switches or the input from switches selectively. CONSTITUTION:When a program is selected on a menu displayed on a display device 3 and a function key 2-1 on a touch panel 2 is selected and depressed, the program stored in a ROM 11 is read by a CPU 10. The CPU 10 switches a programmable switch 13 so that the input from push-button key switches 5 can be received. If a goods code is inputted from a push-button keyboard device 6 when the amount of money of sales is obtained in accordance with a unit price and the quantity at every goods code, the programmable switch 13 detects the depression of a push-button key switch 5 and outputs input data to the CPU 10. When data is inputted from any keyboard of the pushbutton keyboard device 6 and the touch panel 2, the input signal is selected by the programmable switch 13 and is sent to the CPU 10.
