ENGINE WITH PRESSURE WAVE SUPERCHARGER

PURPOSE:To prevent hunting and white-blue-colored smoke in a no load high rotational speed region, by setting the rotational ratio in the no load high rotational speed region just after starting to a value around which a return ratio of exhaust gas in a cell is minimized. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas supplied to an exhaust gas introduction passage 30 while an engine is in operation forces out intake air in a gas passage 24 in a cell rotor into a supercharge passage 28 by an exhaust gas pressure wave and it is exhausted into an exhaust passage 32 from the portion of an outlet port 31 by the rotation of a rotor 20. Intake air introduced into the cell rotor 20 from the portion of an intake air introduction port 25 through an intake air passage 26 effects a scavenging action and is forced out into the supercharge passage 28 at the portion facing with an intake air outlet port 27 by the rotation of the rotor 20. A driven-side roller 9 is held at the portion A of a taper drum 1 (speed ratio 5-6.5) in a no load high rotational speed region just after start ing. The rotational ratio is set to 7-8 times.
