PURPOSE:To obtain a garbage disposer which has no problem in sewerage, has excellence in both miniaturization and stability, and reduces remarkably the foul odor of exhaust gas by passing supplied air to a garbage chamber and the exhaust gas from the chamber through a heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:Garbage 17 in a garbage can 4 absorbs microwaves emitted from a magnetron 1 and is quickly heated. The garbage absorbing the microwaves releases water content first to be dehydrated. Steam generated from the garbage is sent to a heat exchanger 7 from an outflow hole for exhaust gas together with the supplied air coming from an air supply hole 3. A large quantity of the water content contained in the exhaust gas is condensed and removed. The exhaust gas dehydrated by the exchanger 7 is sent to a catalyst body and the foul odor component in the exhaust gas is purified. The dehydrated garbage absorbs the microwaves further and is heated quickly and its part is carbonized. As the installation of the exchanger causes the water content in the exhaust gas to be removed and prevents the catalyst from being poisoned by steam and also being reduced in activity, the foul odor of the exhaust gas is able to be reduced.
