PURPOSE:To retrieve picture information through the use of a videotex without interruption EDP processing by matching a data transmission control sequence with respect to a circuit in the picture information retrieval through the videotex to the sequence of the EDP processing and processing multijob in time base. CONSTITUTION:For transmitting data to the circuit 3 an expansion header 30b' is set in an expansion mode, and data for the videotex is inserted into a data part 30a as it is. In terms of data insertion at a reception side and a distribution job (ID)2c/1c the type of reception data is decided in reference to the expansion header 30b' of the data transmitted from the circuit 3, and an EDP job 1a/2a or a VTX job 1b/2b are activated. Thus the data transmission control sequence of the circuit 3 is executed by matching to the sequence of the EDP processing, whereby a host computer system 1 and a terminal equipment 2 can process data in one sequence and an overhead can be reduced.
