The invention relates to a removable ladder for gaining access to the walkway of a tanker trailer. The ladder is removable and consists of two parts 24, 26 articulated to one another, by means of joints which make it possible either to fold two parts of the ladder on to one another, or to lock them with respect to one another in a position where they make an obtuse angle between them which matches the domed or rounded shape of the zone 52 of the tanker to which the ladder is attached. <IMAGE>
