PURPOSE:To recover CO gas with high concentration by the following method in which the gap between the skirt and the hood, and the gap between the skirt and the furnace port of a converter are sealed by a sealing cloth, and by moving said skirt up and down, gas leakage and environmental air-invasion is prevented. CONSTITUTION:The gap between the hood 3 and the skirt 2 of a converter is sealed by a sealing member 14 and a sealing cloth 21, and the gap between the lower end of the skirt 2 and the furnace port 16 of the converter is sealed by the sealing member 19 equipped on the lower end of a sleave 17 and the sealing cloth 20. When the skirt 2 and the sleave 17 are raised after refining, the sealing cloth 20, 21 is bent inwardly and the dust is dropped. When the skirt 2 is lowered and the gap between the furnace port 16 and the skirt 2 is opened and then the sleave 17 is lowered with keeping watch on the slag sticking condition on the converter-port 16, the gap between the inclination-increasing portion of the outer surface on the converter and the sealing member 19 is completely sealed. Consequently, the trobble for the sealing device is dissolved, and pressurized operation of the blast furnace may be carried out with recovery of high concentration-CO gas. |
