The rescue equipment lowers a person at controlled speed from a building. It comprises a drum (9) rotating in a housing (1) and with a rope or steel band (10) winding on and off it. - A round recess in the drum has a truncated-cone wall against which a mating round brake shoe (13) works, prevented from turning in the housing and detachable if necessary. A rotary component (16) slides the shoe in the axial direction against the drum, giving a progressive braking action.(1) |
