PURPOSE:To suppress ripples by making a rotor of N and S poles magnetized at a pitch of pi/P rad when the number of magnetic poles is P, and by forming a stator by winding a two-phase toroidal coil at a pitch of pi/P rad. CONSTITUTION:N and S poles magnetized at a pitch beta of pi/4 rad, when the number of magnetic poles is P (in the figure, P=4), are arranged alternately to form a rotor 1. Also, every other two-phase toroidal coil 3 (the figure shows only one phase portion and another phase portion is wound between coils as shown in the figure) is wound in the reverse direction at a pitch alpha of pi/4 rad to form a stator 2. The period for the two-phase coil to be electrified is changed alternately to rotate the rotor 1. In this manner, a synthetic torque with very small ripples is generated to carry out a smooth rotation. |
